The “Roller Bearings” is a type of mechanical bearing that uses ‘Cylindrical’ or ‘Barrel’ shaped rolling elements to support the separation between the rotating parts of the bearing. They can bear heavier loads than ball bearings because of the greater contact area between races and rollers, but cannot handle high-speed rotation. They have linear contact at the rolling surfaces which slows the speed for larger load carrying capability.
The Different Types of Roller Bearings Generally used are
The Some of the applications are
Used in Electric motors and power tools.
For Conveyor belts, machine tools and power generator.
It’s a choice of Railway wheels, trucks and mining equipment.
In Gear drive clutch release and machine tools.
Wrist watches, wall clocks and turbines.
Advantages of Roller Bearings are
The biggest advantage is low friction with safe, smooth working loads.
It significantly withstands higher working load.
It has high durability, that bearing usually runs maintenance free for thousands of miles.
Roller Bearing has less axial movement.
Require less space and noiseless in operation.
